Terms and Conditions for Media Release and Liability Waiver
Spartans Youth Flag Football Team
Effective Date: September 1, 2024
By registering your child with the Spartans Youth Flag Football Team (“Spartans”), you agree to the following terms and conditions regarding media release and release of liability:
Media Release
1. Consent to Use of Media
Parents/guardians grant permission to the Spartans to photograph, record, or otherwise capture their child’s participation in team activities, including practices, games, and events. These media files may include photographs, videos, or audio recordings.
2. Purpose of Use
Media captured by the Spartans may be used for promotional and informational purposes, including but not limited to:
- Posting on the team’s official website ([www.SpartansFlag.com](http://www.SpartansFlag.com))
- Social media accounts operated by the Spartans
- Team newsletters or flyers
- Highlight reels and team updates
3. Scope of Consent
- Media may feature your child individually or as part of a group.
- No financial compensation will be provided for the use of media featuring your child.
4. Retention of Rights
All media captured and published by the Spartans remain the property of the Spartans. Parents/guardians waive any right to inspect or approve the media before its use.
5. Opt-Out Option
Parents/guardians who do not consent to their child’s inclusion in media must notify the Spartans in writing before the start of the season. Requests must be sent to spartan_flag@yahoo.com and include the child’s name and team details. The Spartans will make reasonable efforts to exclude your child from identifiable media.
Release of Liability for Injury
6. Assumption of Risk
Parents/guardians acknowledge and understand that participation in flag football involves inherent risks, including but not limited to physical injury, collisions, and other accidents.
7. Waiver of Liability
By registering their child, parents/guardians voluntarily assume all risks associated with their child’s participation in team activities. Parents/guardians agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless the Spartans, its coaches, staff, volunteers, and representatives from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, or costs arising from injuries or accidents sustained during practices, games, events, or other team-related activities.
8. Medical Treatment
In the event of an injury, parents/guardians authorize the Spartans to seek appropriate medical care for their child if necessary. Parents/guardians are responsible for any associated medical costs.
9. Insurance
Parents/guardians acknowledge that it is their responsibility to carry personal health insurance for their child.

Code of Conduct Terms and Conditions
This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations and standards for all parents, guardians, players, and spectators involved with the Spartans Youth Flag Football Team (“Spartans”). Participation in the Spartans program is a privilege, and all members are expected to represent the team with integrity, respect, and sportsmanship at all times.
1. General Conduct Expectations
* All players, parents, and spectators are expected to conduct themselves respectfully toward coaches, referees, league officials, teammates, and opposing teams.
* The use of profanity, verbal abuse, physical aggression, or unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated.
* Parents and players must follow all team and league rules, as well as directions provided by Spartans coaches and staff.
* Players are expected to attend all practices and games on time and demonstrate a positive attitude and team-first mentality.
2. Parental Behavior and Support
* Parents are encouraged to promote good sportsmanship by setting a positive example for their child and others.
* Negative comments, arguing with officials, or creating disturbances during games or practices are prohibited.
* Parents must respect the authority and decisions of coaches and league officials.
* Any concerns or issues should be addressed privately and respectfully with the coaching staff after games or practices.
3. Team Commitment and Transfers
* Parents and players agree that once registered and assigned to a Spartans team, they will remain with that team for the entire season.
* *No parent may remove their child from the team, switch to another team, or transfer mid-season without prior written approval from both head coaches involved and the league director.*
* Failure to comply may result in suspension or removal from the Spartans program and or the Gridiron league all together.
4. Recruitment and Solicitation Policy
* *No parent, coach, or player affiliated with the Spartans shall solicit, recruit, or attempt to persuade any current Spartans player or parent to join another team during the active season.*
* Any form of team poaching or solicitation—verbal, written, or through social media—will be considered a violation of this Code of Conduct and may result in disciplinary action, including suspension from the Spartans organization and or the the Gridiron league all together.
5. Player Responsibilities
* Players must demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times—win or lose.
* Players must respect their teammates, opponents, and officials.
* Players are expected to put forth their best effort in practices and games and to support their team positively.
6. Disciplinary Action
Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in one or more of the following actions:
* Verbal or written warning
* Temporary suspension from practices or games
* Removal from the team without refund
* Permanent ban from future Spartans activities
* Permanent ban from the Gridiron league.
All disciplinary decisions will be made at the discretion of the Spartans coaching staff and league director.
By participating in the Spartans Youth Flag Football program, parents and players acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to adhere to these Terms and Conditions and the Spartans Code of Conduct.
Modification of Terms
The Spartans reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. Updates will be posted on [www.SpartansFlag.com](http://www.SpartansFlag.com). Continued participation in the program implies acceptance of any updated terms.
